Diving

Martinique is bathed by the Atlantic Ocean on its eastern side and by the Caribbean Sea on its western side. It is also bordered by two deep canals: the Saint Lucia Canal to the south and the Dominica Canal to the north. A real marine crossroads, Martinique’s waters are home to a wide variety of marine flora and fauna that are a delight for scuba divers. It is possible to observe many species of tropical fish, beautiful gorgonians and coral sponges, sea turtles and sometimes even dolphins…

Some spots have acquired an international reputation over the years and many divers from all over the world want to visit them… This is particularly true for the wreck cemetery in the bay of Saint Pierre or the Diamond Rock, a true emblem of Martinique, or the Pearl in the north and the Burgos Point in the south.

The beach of Anse Noire

Overlooked by the steep slopes of the neighboring hills, drowned in the vegetation, the small cove of Anse Noire offers a landscape quite different from the beaches of the south of the island. More wild, more intense.

Embedded between two cliffs plunging into the sea, it can be discovered from the top of the rocky outcrop that separates it from its neighbor. A pretty strip of black sand of volcanic origin generously shaded by majestic coconut trees.

Activities :
Anse Noire is renowned for the beauty of its seabed and the richness of its aquatic fauna, and, you may be lucky enough to spot a sea turtle.

  • Scuba diving with turtles
  • Kayaks to visit the bat cave
  • A long hike (3.2 km of elevation change)

Useful information :
Coming by road: At the top of Morne Bigot on the D7 between Anse à l’Ane and Grande Anse d’Arlet
take the small road down to Anse Noire and Anse Dufour.
Do not linger in the late afternoon or bring a good mosquito repellent.

Golf at Trois Ilets

The only golf course in Martinique is in the commune of Trois-Ilets, 2 km from our hotel. It was designed in 1976 by the famous architect Robert Trent Jones, to whom we owe no less than 500 achievements in the world, including the Chamonix and Grande Motte golf courses. The course, a PAR 71, remains affordable for beginners on the way out but becomes much more difficult on the
way back with some rather technical holes, notably 15 and 16 where it is necessary to cross an inlet.

The property

  • A PAR 71 golf course of 6070
  • The Tennis Club of trois ilets
  • The restaurant “The Club”
  • A dance school “Academie of Arts”

The garden Balata

All paradises are gardens and it is no coincidence that during the visit to the Garden of Balata, the magic of the place gives visitors amazing feelings.

It was in 1982 that Jean-Philippe Thoze, horticulturist, landscaper and artist at heart, retraced the steps of his childhood in the Creole house of his grandparents. From there, will be born a passion for botany which will take him to the four corners of the world. The garden, organized around the family home with typical Creole architecture, is the result of a perfect alchemy between a return to basics and an atypical artist. Your gaze must constantly adjust to the palette of tropical colors and you walk among heliconias, hibiscus, bromeliads from South America, porcelain roses, heliconias and anthuriums and of course wild orchids…A must in Martinique!
